As far back as he can remember, Baronski has always had music on his mind—especially his beloved drums. Fully surrounded by it since his childhood years, he encountered many different styles and genres of music through the concerts he attended and the musicians he came to love. A very special present gifted to him sometime in the 90s, his first four-track recorder, inspiredhim to become a music producer. Through all these influences, the little drummer boy becamea proficient musician.
Today Baronski looks back on more than 20 years of making music in different bands and combos, from jazz to hip hop, world music to rock music—his extremely diverse range has nolimit. Artists such as Andy Cooper (Ugly Duckling), jazz trumpeter Christian Kappe and Long Distance Calling have been among his musical partners.
Baronski Releases on Dezi-Belle
More and more, Baronski finds himself focusing on instrumental hip hop and other related genres. His jazzy sound, his funky beats, and his fat basslines are full of pleasant surprises notonly to his public but from time to time also to himself. One can be sure that his music will never put his audiences to sleep! In 2018, Baronski came together with his favorite colleague and beatmaking talent, WOX, founding the duo and symbiotic union, WOX&Baronski. Mind Your Head, their first album release, succeeded in making heads bob, but Mind the Gap, their second album—published in 2020 by Dezi-Belle Records out of Berlin—really made the beat community sit up and listen!
Always returning to simplicity, clarity, and to the pristine, always seeking to free his music from convention and from the “faster, higher, stronger” attitude—these are the principles that inspire Baronski’s music. “Nothing sensational”, he explains, “it’s simply better music”. Nothing sensational?! Well, we’ll have a listen to that!
